Isn't it a bit silly to call him the oldest Englishmen? Englishmen are a mix of Germanic tribes who came in the sixth century. So only 1400 years ago. You're talking about 10;000 years ago. There were no Englishmen then, even the land was not the same, so, not England.

The root of our intelligence is our response to fear. Flocks and herds most often choose immediate unthinking flight as those who stop to think get eaten. Ape female response to fear is to gather offspring and run up the trees, while male response is to provide distraction until the last second, or run only when danger is imminent, or to last second. Providing as distraction may include throwing stones, or sticks which soon become weapons which would eventually be created and carried. Humans grew in intelligence simply because our response to fear, and brain size was likely to follow

Neanderthal brains were on average two lemon sizes bigger than modern homosapiens. Think about that for a while, you cant excuse it or decieve yourself away from it, its fact. Modern homosapiens have also lost about a lemon size of brain in the last three thousand years, so the classing influence for large brains is long gone, that is, intelligent hominids doing all the breeding has well and truly ended

Acorns are a known source for flour yes but complicated due to the tannins. We know upper paleolithic people in Europe used hazelnuts and pine etc. It's much easier i would say for them to grind those. And you can store hazelnuts for 2 years. I baked some rather nice bread with hazelnut and walnut flour myself :)

As our species adapted to learning to utilize tools (wood, fire, stone) as we moved into savanna and adapted our upright posture the requirement of the ability to learn increased.. Protein became more necessary for the stamina required to find chase food. The survivability of offspring depended upon their ability to learn how to use the tools and behaviors of their group. As new tools and concepts arose, our brains needed to keep up... It was necessity of adaptability. As we specialized, we bacame more reliant on our ability to adapt our behavior... we learned the ability to live in our different environments. Nature changes the environment. We succeeded because our brains were good at adapting skills. Nature would make it difficult to revert to full, thick body hair.. no need, we figured out that fur and leather could do that.. It goes on and on.. We are not simple.. nothing is.. Be happy we are rarely not the "top" of the food chain unless we are caught unprepared and alone. Be Well!! 😃

Sun hits from above MAYBE three hours a day. The rest of the time, full sun hitting our bodies, sometimes 12 hours a day. Aquatic ape theory puts head on our head merely as a place for squiggly babies to hold on to...which makes much more sense. Most evolutionary changes help a species adapt to new environments...hair loss would only help in water, like it does other aquatic mammals...running on all fours makes more sense out on an open savannah...not two legs while being chased by a group of hyenas. To change our form to reach for low hanging fruit is an insult to evolution. Orthopedists are millionaires for a reason. I vote aquatic theory till someone says one thing smart about Savannah theory. ✌️

But the big, heavy brain raises the center of gravity and makes walking on two legs much more difficult. Compare with the ostrich, which has a small brain and a much lower center of gravity and is a much better runner.

I saw a great documentary years ago that talked about random mutations and that a possible random mutation might have been how we gained our intelligence. It was talking about how a mutation in the jaw muscle might have been the cause for it decrease in size and lighten its grip on or skulls which freed up our skulls for our brains to get bigger ..Very interesting to think about ... You have to be extremely naive to not believe we are primates .. if you have doubts, watch the documentary called " your inner fish " it has 3 parts. part 2 is called your inner reptile and part three is called your inner monkey.. If after watching them and you still have doubts .. then it would be impossible no matter what evidence to convince you otherwise . cheers my fellow Primates
